
Are you passionate about youth work, digital rights, and tackling online abuse? We are looking for Nordic Digital Youth Ambassadors to help create a safer, more inclusive online environment as part of the Game Changer project!
The Game Changer, funded by the Erasmus+ program, aims to strengthen young people's digital rights and cyber citizenship in Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland using the fun methods of gaming, the academic approach of research and the motivational nature of activism to create tools and initiatives to combat online harms. We are looking for one Ambassador from each of the participating countries.
Individuals between the ages of 18-26 are encouraged to apply for this part-time role. The work starts in mid-April 2025, and candidates should be able to commit to the role for approximately one year. The position offers flexible hours and is ideal for students or individuals balancing other commitments. It is a paid position, with additional benefits such as travel allowances and professional development opportunities. It involves both virtual and in-person work, offering flexibility in terms of hours and location. You will also receive mentoring and support throughout your involvement in the project.
Key Responsibilities & Opportunities
Engage in Digital Advocacy & Gaming Culture – Participate in conferences and workshops on digital literacy, gaming, and youth empowerment. Take part in discussions that promote inclusion, online safety, and positive digital communities and represent youth’s voices in policy discussions.
Participating in Meetings & Regional Travel – Participate in online meetings with project partners and youth ambassadors, and attend in-person events, traveling within the Nordic region to foster connections and amplify the project’s impact. Attend visits to public authorities to advocate for the digital rights of youth and stronger policies, and promote the exchange of best practices between Nordic countries.
Research Digital Rights & Safety Legislation – Assist in researching the current digital rights, safety policies, and legislative frameworks across Nordic countries. Identify gaps and areas for improvement to inform future policy advancements.
Contribute to the Development of Tools – Work alongside consortium partners on the development and execution of the Nordic Navigator tool to combat online harms, as well as an info-pack for stakeholders to support Nordic countries in taking a leading role in digital rights and safety.
Facilitate Peer-to-Peer Education in Digital Spaces – Engage with youth through gaming events, tournaments and digital initiatives, offering guidance on online safety and responsible digital citizenship.
Content Creation and Social Media - Contribute to content creation for social media and streaming platforms, with a focus on promoting youth involvement.
Core Competencies and Requirements:
Strong Communication & Public Speaking Skills – Comfortable speaking in front of groups, with the ability to engage and facilitate discussions in English. Proficiency in a Nordic language is advantageous.
Tech & Media Literacy – Proficiency in digital tools and platforms, with a solid understanding of online environments.
Knowledge of Gaming & Social Media – Familiarity with gaming culture and social media trends, with a focus on digital safety and online behavior.
Independent & Motivated – Strong ability to work independently, demonstrating resourcefulness, creativity, and initiative in various tasks.
Understanding of Youth Rights & Digital Safety – Basic knowledge of youth rights, digital safety, gaming regulations, and community policies.
Passion for Youth Engagement & Cyber Citizenship – A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and digital empowerment.
Willingness to Travel – Availability and flexibility to travel within the Nordic region as part of the role.
Clear Criminal Record – A clear criminal record is required.
While an academic degree is not a requirement for the Digital Youth Ambassador role, students or recent graduates in Political Science, Social Science, Game Development, IT, Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
