It's time for equality to go digital

The Nordic region is known for its leadership in terms of gender equality and democratic values. We have what it takes to take the world lead when it comes to digital rights and equality online. That is the aim of the Nordic Digital Rights and Equality Foundation.

About NORDREF

The Nordic Digital Rights and Equality Foundation was founded in the unprecedented year of 2020, when social distancing requirements underlined how important the internet is to our economies and social lives - and also how crucial it is that everyone is safe to work, play and express themselves online.

Ongoing and upcoming projects

Digital rights is a new concept that is still being developed, not just in the Nordic region but all over the world. Much is still unknown about the extent and impact of online abuse, and how much it costs our societies to let it go unchallenged. NORDREF works to add to the research and knowledge base about online abuse and how new technology is being abused in a way that threatens democracy.
